If your little one is suffering from dental decay, cavities, or has any dental defect exposing their teeth to damage, we may suggest pediatric crowns to restore their teeth. Pediatric crowns are a restorative option for tooth decay in children that not only improve the aesthetics of their smile but also extend the life, development, and function of their primary teeth.
There are different types of pediatric crowns, and we may recommend the best one after examining their teeth and checking the severity of the decay.

- Stainless Steel Crowns
They are a combination of chromium, carbon, iron, and other metals and a durable restorative option for your child’s teeth. As they do not have more aesthetic appeal than the other options, we primarily use them for molar teeth.
- Composite Clearfix Crowns
Also known as composite strip crowns, they are applied using a composite material and clear plastic form. They are the best restorative option for your child’s front teeth. Apart from this, they are affordable and easy to maintain.
- Polycarbonate Crowns
They are a blend of polycarbonate and acrylic that we bond onto your little one’s mouth using a self-adhesive resin. Polycarbonate crowns provide an aesthetic restoration at a low cost. Their durability varies from person to person. As they come in one universal shade, we can alter them with liners and adhesive to match the color of your child’s teeth.
- Resin Veneer Crowns
These crowns combine the durability of stainless steel and the aesthetics of resin. They are durable, aesthetically appealing, and insensitive to moisture and hemorrhage. It means that if taken care of properly, they will last longer.
- Zirconia Ceramic Crowns
They are made using zirconium oxide further stabilized by yttrium oxide. Some of these crowns may contain porcelain layered inside their substructure or on the outer surface. They are the toughest of all, making them slightly expensive.
How to Prevent Tooth Decay in Children?
- Brush your little one’s teeth twice a day for two minutes. We may recommend a fluoride rinse or toothpaste so that their teeth remain strong.
- Clean between their teeth using floss to remove the accumulation of food particles and other substances.
- Encourage healthy eating habits in your little ones and avoid sticky and chewy food items in their diet. Cut down the excessive sugar consumption in the form of chocolates, candies, and juices.
- Schedule regular dental check-ups and examinations every six months. We may also perform a dental cleaning to remove plaque, tartar, and bacteria from their teeth.
